Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is Senchain?

Senchain is a timed sentence-chaining game. You get a word, build a sentence with it, and the last word of your sentence becomes your next prompt. It trains you to think and speak fluently under pressure, the same exercise taught in communication and public speaking courses.

How does this actually improve my communication?

It drills the mental habit of linking ideas without pausing. In real conversation, loss-of-words moments happen because your brain can't find a bridge fast enough. Senchain trains exactly that bridge-finding reflex, you get faster, smoother, and less likely to go blank mid-sentence.

What's the difference between Easy, Medium, and Hard?

Easy uses everyday common words (run, warm, blue). Medium mixes in less frequent vocabulary. Hard throws rare or abstract words at you that force more creative sentence construction, much tougher under the clock.

Does the sentence have to start with the exact prompt word?

Yes, your sentence must start with the given word (or the last word of your previous sentence).

How is the score calculated?

Score is based on how many sentences you complete multiplied by the time setting. Faster time modes give higher potential scores per sentence. Failing a round or being slow costs you points, so consistency matters and so does speed.

Is Senchain good for English learners?

Yes, it's one of the best drills available. Start on Easy with Relaxed timing to build confidence, then progressively tighten the clock and difficulty. You'll build both vocabulary and sentence fluency simultaneously.
